YOU, ME AND US
(Audio CD)
$9.99
Featuring DMC of Run-DMC and produced by Ted Perlman. Zara Phillips began her professional career working as a backing vocalist for Bob Geldof. Live-Aid creator, Geldof recruited Phillips for his first solo projects after he departed the chart-topping UK band The Boomtown Rats. She worked on Geldof’s album “Deep in the Heart of Nowhere,” music videos and television appearances on some of the U.K.’s most highly rated programs. She also toured extensively with Geldof. Zara’s musical career quickly blossomed from that point. She continued her work on tour, in television and videos with U.K. artists such as Matt Bianco, Nick Kamen, David Essex, and the solo project from Dire Straits’ John Illsley. Additionally, she toured in support of Bananarama, with a ‘Perfect Day’.
Born and raised in London, Zara loved to sing and dance from a young age and enjoyed spending hours in her room writing all the lyrics to musicals and performing each part. She auditioned for school shows but was told her voice was too deep and never got the leads. A boyfriend persuaded her to join a band and soon started playing gigs around London. She also started tinkering with the guitar, asking any musician she knew (including Geldof and Illsley) to teach her a chord.
Zara moved to Los Angeles where she continued writing new songs and performing solo. In 2005 Zara finished work on a new CD entitled “When the Rain Stops” produced by Ted Perlman, winner of 2006 Grammy Award for Burt Bacharach’s CD “At This Time”. Zara’s work with Ted features 14 original tracks written by her (one track is a co-write with Ted).
Zara’s deeply personal song “Secrets” was used on the Emmy Award winning Daytime Soap, NBC’s “PASSIONS.” Two other songs, “My Time” and “Naked Loving You” both are heard on the soundtrack for upcoming films from Organic Digital Productions.
Zara has finished directing and producing an adoption documentary entitled “ROOTS: UNKNOWN” This educational and informative film will focus on the emotional influence adoption has on the adoptee and their families. Interviews and sound bites with adult adoptees, their families and children are mixed with artistic images of their art and creative expression.
In addition, Zara is also an author. Her book, ‘Mother Me’ is about Zara’s personal journey to motherhood from an adoptee’s point of view. ‘Mother Me’ was published by BAAF (British Association for Adoption and Fostering) in the UK and was released on March 3rd 2008. This is an intensely personal and compelling memoir in which Zara describes her feelings as an adopted person and explores her relationships with her adoptive and birthmothers, and invites the reader to join her in her own journey to becoming a Mother. “It seems that birthing my children was also a birth for my whole self.”
“Mother me’ has now been picked up by Gemma media and an updated version was released on February 14th in the U.S.A
Zara and Ted Perlman got back together for this new album that features ‘I’m Legit’ a song Zara wrote with another adopted person Darryl Macdaniels aka DMC of Run-DMC. This album is a collection of thought provoking songs with an acoustic and raw feel. The album ‘You, Me and Us' (Northstar Publishing) is available now.

SOMETHING LIKE A RENEGADE
(Audio CD)
$9.99
“Something Like A Renegade” is a concept album by pop singer Sabrina who gained international notoriety with the release of her controversial song "I Wanna Shoot Lady Gaga". Both mega-influential media outlets Radar Online and MTV overseas issued several headline news reports following the release of the single, which sparked an explosive media campaign felt all around the world. News of the song spread quickly all throughout pop-culture and international tabloid news.
As the title suggests, the album is something like a renegade of its type as it rejects the typical mold of what has become the all-too-predictable pattern of today's conventional pop records. Slick and refined where they wanted it to be, gritty and rustic when they wanted it to be and undeniably soulful when not at all expected, the final half of the album transitions into a well-executed, perfectly vintage nod to the unpolished vinyl sound of the 50's Motown era.
Recorded literally all over the world, the album weaves surprising elements of different cultures throughout, incorporating some of the most popular international sounds and musical styles from places such as Europe, Sweden, Canada, England and Australia. The singer's silky-smooth voice adds continuity to the record and pulls it all together, resulting in a blend of cutting-edge mainstream pop with a worldwide urban and hip-hop influence.
Well before the release of her debut album, Sabrina received critical acclaim from major Complex News Outlet HipHopDX, who stated: "Sabrina has a rich, husky voice that rains down on the eardrum. Fitting in between the heartiness of Tina Marie and the sultry appeal that Pink! first wooed with, Sabrina’s voice also carries one hell of a punch." DJ Booth, another Complex News Outlet, referred to her as a "rising soul starlet" and added: “There’s no question that there are big things ahead for Sabrina.” AllHipHop labeled Sabrina as “Alternative Heat” for her featured song, which also appears on the album. Likewise, news outlet SOHH (who Rolling Stone magazine writer Mark Binelli labeled as the “best overall hip-hop site”)

EVERY COINCIDENCE IS SIGNIFICANT
(Audio CD)
$9.99
With this album, Audio Stepchild asks the listener,"are you a dreamer?" There haven't been too many around lately. It's been whispered in dark corners that dreaming is dead, maybe because no one does it anymore. Truth is, it's been forgotten, removed from our language. Nobody teaches it so nobody knows it exists. In 2012, it seems the dreamer has been banished to obscurity.
Well, the visionaries who came together to create this groundbreaking album are trying to change all that by dreaming, every day.
Dreaming with our hands and dreaming with our minds. Our planet is facing the greatest problems it's ever faced, ever. So whatever you do, don't be bored, this is absolutely the most exciting time we could have possibly hoped to be alive. And things are just starting.
The secret of manifesting miracles is simple: combine your waking rational abilities with the infinite possibilities of your dreams. If you can do that, you can do anything.
Ask yourself, for instance- where did language come from? It came from our desire to transcend our isolation and have some sort of connection with one another. When you hear the word "love", the sound goes in your ear, traveling through circuitry and pathways deep into your brain, through your memories of love (or lack of love) and so you register what is said and you then understand.
But how is it known that you understood? Words are inert, they're just symbols and so much of our experience is intangible... so much of what we perceive cannot be expressed, it's unspeakable. And yet, when we communicate with one another, and we feel that we have connected... and we think we are understood, it is a sense of almost spiritual communion. That is the knowledge of understanding.
So, ask yourself: what is it that caused you to be here at this very moment, reading these words? The whole of your life has lead you to this very place, at this precise moment.
Coincidence? The mystery is revealed here. In the music... And every coincidence is significant.

Compton’s Most...

Compton's Most Wanted is Back. Comprised of rappers Eiht and Chill MC, turntablist DJ Mike T, and producers DJ Slip and the Unknown DJ, CMW came together in 1989 and recorded a debut album, It's a Compton Thang (1990). The album was a landmark for its time, standing beside N.W.A's Straight Outta Compton (1988) as a genre-defining work. The following year they toured with fellow gangsta rappers the Geto Boys and recorded a follow-up album, Straight Checkn 'Em (1991), around the same time they were climbing the charts with "Growin' Up in the Hood," the lead single from their album that also had been included on the Boyz n the Hood soundtrack (1991). Riding atop the single's success, Straight Checkn 'Em peaked at number 26 on Billboard's R&B chart in September, signaling the group's closest brush yet with commercial success. The following year came Music to Driveby (1992), a fine album that would signal the group's dissolution.
By this point, the rap community had elevated Eiht to superstar status, and his role as an actor in the film Menace II Society (1993) only solidified his status, along with his solo contribution to the chart-topping soundtrack. And once his solo album, We Come Strapped (1994), debuted in Billboard's Top Five, he didn't look back for several years, as he continued to release one album after another. By the end of the decade, though, West Coast gangsta rap had lost much of its popularity, and Eiht's solo career reflected this.
Not surprisingly, he reunited with the former members of CMW (sans the Unknown DJ) to record their first album in years, Represent (2000), an album met with little fanfare. A retrospect best-of album, When We Wuz Bangin' (2001), followed, commemorating the group's ten-year anniversary. Eiht resumed his solo career thereafter. Five years later the band would reunite once again for Music to Gang Bang, which was released by Thump.
Since 2000, the group has released two other group albums, but after finally setting aside years of group differences and misunderstandings, the west coast collective has finally come back together to release the highly-anticipated CMW record in 2012 through Hoopla Worldwide - - it's still a Compton Thang!

How many artists can claim there first lyrical and written performance on an album not only came in the form of a multi-platinum disc, but was considered to be apart of one of the greatest rap albums of all time? Knoc-turn'al debuted in grand fashion with four guest appearances while also lending his penmanship on other songs for Dr. Dre and his sophomore album, "2001" (released in 1999). He followed that up with Dr. Dre on "Bad Intentions", the lead single off the Interscope released "The Wash" soundtrack based on the film of the same title starring Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg. The song instantly became a hit, and is known today as one Dr. Dre's better songs, mainly remembered for Knoc-turn'al's classic chorus and bridge. The song and video made a splash both virally and visually. While Knoc had already lent his voice to a few hit records, he also stayed busy with the pen ghostwriting songs for Dr. Dre, DJ Quik, Warren G, Xzibit and more.
Despite having close ties to Dr. Dre and Aftermath/Interscope, Knoc-turn'al signed to Elektra Records in 2001 via his own boutique label, L.A. Confidential. It was now time for Knoc to focus on his own music. After years of ghostwriting for the west's top stars, he finally shifted attention to his solo record as he began to prep a debut album. He kicked down the door with "The Knoc" featuring Dr. Dre & Missy Elliot. An instrumental originally intended for a Michael Jordan/Nike commercial, Dr. Dre agreed to let that deal pass by when Knoc heard the beat playing in a studio session. The video was nominated for a Grammy and saw Knoc play over 20 different characters.
He followed "The Knoc" with "Muzik" produced by Kanye West, the lead single off "The Transporter" soundtrack. The video also gained praise from critics and fans all over, and even featured "The Transporter" hit actor Jason Statham making an appearance. The song made history, as being the first rap song to get a cleared sample from Paul McCartney (The Wings "Old Siam Sir").
After his debut album never saw the light of day due to heavy bootlegging, Knoc released "L.A. Confidential Presents:Knoc-turn'al" in 2002, a six song EP which featured guest appearances and production from Dr. Dre, Missy Elliot, Kanye West, Xzibit, Nate Dogg, Warren G, Fredwreck, Too $hort and more. Not bad for a debut EP. The project was a hit with both fans and retail, and the anticipation for a debut album grew.
As Knoc continued to prepare a full length debut album, he made another huge guest appearance on "Lights Out", the comeback single from Westside Connection (Ice Cube, Mack 10 & WC) in 2003. As they shot a video together, Knocused yet another headlining guest appearance to jump start what was finally about to be a proper debut album. "The Way I Am" single featuring Snoop Dogg followed, and the album of the same title (The Way I Am) hit stores in 2004. It was everything fans and critics could ask for in a debut album, as Knoc rolled out a hip-hop red carpet which included Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Scott Storch, DJ Quik, Nate Dogg, Xzibit, Warren G, Fredwreck and more.
After the WEA merger in 2005, Knoc left Elektra and signed with an on the rise label forming on the west coast, Treacherous Records. Much like his mentor Dr. Dre, Knoc has used the time on Treacherous to record over 400 songs and properly put together not just one, but two up and coming albums. Knoc signed a distribution deal with Hoopla Media Group in 2010 and dropped "The Prequel" mixtape which has done over 500,000 downloads.
